ICT BARRIERS IN SOUTH AFRICAN SCHOOLS
The main factors prohibiting the successful intergration of the ICT in South African Schools
Crime is the main factor that contribute to poor Creation of a technology plan that includes long term budgeting, funds and staff available to sustain investments in ICT infrastructure and support systems especially in our local government school.
In 2009 MTN donated more than 20 000 thousands computers to local schools around the country, news papers reportedd before the end of the year that half of those computers were stolen by individuals who do not care about the future of the learners.ICT infrastructure remains a major barrier because other Education Institutions do not consider a strong commitment to ICT which is needed through presence of supportive ICT policies and ICT Funding
I think the Use of unlicensed software can be very problematic as well however, that can be addressed through Providing prior training for faculty when introducing ICT to Students and also Provide support and training for students
